Jenny Willier Murphy
Justice Collaborator
Internationally recognized expert on Rule of Law issues with over 25 years of experience through various positions at USAID, the State Department and international development firms. In her U.S. Government positions, Ms. Murphy provided global technical assistance on Rule of Law issues to U.S. embassies through her work at USAID and the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (State/INL), including justice sector (administration of justice and access to justice), citizen security, anti-corruption, and security sector reform programming. She has worked in Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Albania, Armenia, Republic of Georgia, Egypt, Niger and the United Arab Emirates. From 2019 to 2024, Ms. Murphy also served as the U.S. representative on the Board of Directors for the Justice Studies Center of the Americas (CEJA in Spanish) including 2 years as Board President of a regional international organization promoting rule of law and good governance. Ms. Murphy holds a BA from the University of Virginia and a JD from American University, Washington College of Law. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Interesting Factoid: Ms. Murphy served as a translator for Air Supply during their first South American tour.
